Working with Daddy

As promised, here are some pics of the shed. It is not completely done yet but it is pretty darn close to there! Blake (with a little help from Hatch;)) worked on it ALL weekend long.

Aren't those the most precious overalls?! Those are from Papa Charlie who we can't wait to see in March up at the ranch!

I pray this child learns and practices the hard work ethic that his daddy does. His daddy is the hardest working man just like my dad and my Papa. And all of those men do things RIGHT. "Measure twice, cut once" is Blake's motto that he learned from his dad. "Never to young to learn" is a motto my dad learned from his Grandpa Jack. I know men that can build & fix just about anything is a dying breed...and I am blessed to be among the living! I pray this child learns what it means to be a hard worker and the life lessons that go with working with your hands and not taking things for granted.

Here he is trying to get the most wear out of all his Valentine gear people have gifted him with.
He's a pretty precious Valentine if I do say so myself :)

Couldn't help myself with this one. We think he is even precious when he cries...which is not often AT all!

We were just thanking the Lord last night for how easy my pregnancy was, the easy delivery and recovery (even if we were 6 weeks early), and for quite possible the BEST baby in the whole entire world. We understand everyone says that but for REAL...this child does NOT cry. We have only had to let him "cry it out" once and I think that he stopped crying in under 4 minutes! As soon as you lay him down for bed he falls asleep, anyone can hold him and he doesn't get fussy, he'll take a bottle from anyone, he'll take a bottle period (I understand this is quite a blessing from mom's whose babies won't take bottles yet), he can sleep anywhere, has never had "gas" issues, etc, etc. We have so much to be thankful for. And while he has remained healthy so far, we know we are still not out of the woods per say. We just heard of a 7 month old being hospitalized for RSV just this weekend. :( Praying for that sweet baby and his family and for protection for both Blake and I.

Here are some of our favorite pics from last week

We also got a special treat on Sunday morning when we woke up and realized he slept through the night without needing a feed! Of course we woke up at 7:45 and then he woke up shortly after around 8. But hey, it was a nice treat! I don't plan on that becoming consistent for a while but we'll take it any night he wants to offer it up :)

He has also found his tongue and sticks it out all day long. It is quite precious. He's also found his hands (still doesn't realize they are HIS-aka attached to HIS body-but he will find one and straight to his mouth it goes. It's time we REALLY pay attention to what his hands touch because now those germs will end up right in his mouth!)

This week we are headed down to Houston to join Blake and a work conference. It's such a treat for us because we get to go stay with Aunt Denise and my cousin Kelsey! Who we ADORE!!!! We could not be MORE excited to get some fun time with them. The only time they have seen Hatch is when he was first discharged from the hospital and we weren't letting anyone hold him at that point. Yay! for our first road trip and time out of this house! Please pray for our safety getting to and from, for fun, health, and more fun :)

Also a little P.S.-thank you Lord for this incredible weather we have been having lately! We've gone for walks, picnics, to the park, and even had a backyard nap outside the other day! This mama is a sunshine lover and so bring on the sun and warmth!
