Back online

Well it has been quite a while since we last posted anything! and SOOOOOO much has gone on from: about to sell the house, to keeping the house, to Blake's unexpected surprise from Rosewood to his lovely vaca package from them to his new job at Pioneer.
We had an INCREDIBLE first year of marriage. We knew everyone says your first year is the hardest, which we did not doubt...but my goodness the Lord filled our plate full as he stretched and grew us in ways we NEVER would have imagined. We learned to live out and trust in James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish it's works so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. We are so very thankful to our Community Group for holding us accountable and sharpening us along this journey. We both agree that we could not have made it without their them. Needless to say we LOVE being married and definitely love each other more than before. Well enough of the "heavy" stuff.
So here are some quick updates:
-We have moved into the house! We've officially been residents of it since February and are LOVING the block (we know everyone on the block and love them all!) There are always kiddo's out in the street playing, birthday/holiday parties going on in the hood (they're having a huge parade for the 4th! so cute) and the location is perfect for both of our work commutes, close to church, friends, and everywhere we like to hangout and go eat! It's no wonder Dallas is one of the top fattest cities in the U.S, Blake and I are trying to not let all of this delicious food make us porky!
-Blake is at Pioneer Natural Resources and completely enjoying the change and all that this company is doing because he is learning so very much. Not to mention he just raves about what a good company it is to work for
-We've had the privledge to travel some this past year going to Ponca & Stillwater for OSU games and to visit my fam. Wimberly for a nice get away in the hill country. Montecito/Santa Barbara/LA for our one year anniversary. Watercolor with both friends and family to visit my aunt and uncles beach house (we are SO blessed with generous family!). Hopefully before the year is up we'll be to San Diego to visit the Snodgrass', Houston to visit the Weaver's, Austin to visit the Wheaton's and maybe even more!
-We LOVE being party of our married community group and were beyond blessed to have Kyle and Lucina Thompson as our leaders for the first year. We love our new group of friends!
-I'm traveling to Haiti in August for a medical mission trip! I'm going with a group of medical staff who are also members of Watermark. I'm thrilled and nervous all at the same time. If you think about it please pray John 15:5 and Colossians 4:5-6 for myself and the group, as well as our safety.
Well that's about all I think we can all digest for now. We promise to be better about updating in the future!
Next time we'll try to add some pics too
